Otavalo and Peguche

Peguche is a little indigenous town, famous for the beautiful weaving products made by the people living there. this is the little church on the main plaza.
and in this beautiful house there is a shop selling beautiful high quality weavings. I was so fascinated looking at the weavings that I forgot to take photos. What a shame.
But many of the houses in Peguche look like the people living in them are quite poor.
also the unpaved streets.
Close to Peguche there is a pretty waterfall which is holy to the indigenous people living there. The way leading to the fall goes through a beautiful forest with very high trees. They are huge.
and some trees with very interesting trunks

and look at this beautiful paper tree:
and here the falls
Another interesting, also holy place to the indigenous people is El Lechero. It is a tree on the top of a mountain which is supposed to have healing powers.
and now some impressions of Otavalo

I love the street lights in Otavalo:

Yesterday I left Otavalo and took a bus to Quito, just 2 hours away.
