Villa de Leyva

Villa de Layva is supposed to be Colombia's most beautiful colonial town but it is difficult to say which is the most beautiful, each has its own beauty.
At an elevation of 2140 m. , declared a national monument in 1954. Cobblestone streets, little houses, Plaza mayor, its main square, 120x120 m., one of the largest in the Americas. Beautiful mountains around. Here some impressions:

the beautiful large plaza Mayor with the cathedral

and the Plazza mayor in the evening with some very black clouds
and my very pretty hotel on plazza Mayor

Reuven and Drora, you would love Villa de Leyva
In the late afternoon or evening not only the people but also the dogs of Villa de Levya meet at the Plazza Mayor
there is such a nice atmosphere as the sun sets

What I enjoyed most in Villa Leyva was sitting at the restaurant La Guaca where every day between 1 and 3 and 7 and 10 in the evening a fantastic singer, Fabian, played the guitarre and sang the most beautiful Colombian songs. He has such a wonderful voice, it penetrates your heart. I think if somebody who is in the show business would hear him there he would become famous.
It was so delightful to sit there and listen to him that I kept going there although the food wasn't good and remained until 10, just coudn't get away. I really miss his singing.
In the evening there was such a romantic atmosphere

and the full moon gave it a special touch

On the main square there is a little nice museum, where you are not allowed to photograph inside, just in the garden. Look at this statue: The man, empty, looking sad, and the woman with the baby in her belly. Isn't it cute?

The main pleasure in Villa de Levya besides listening to Fabian was just strolling in the streets and looking around.
enjoying some good food
and watching people go by
I just found in my second camera 2 more photos from my fairy tale forest which I want to show you:

Have a wonderful night
