third day cruise

Third day: Isabela

If you go on your own to Isabela, all you can visit is Puerto Villamiil, the little town there with 2000 inhabitants, and make a tour to Tintoreras, some snorkeling spotss nearby and to one volcano. The advantage of the cruise was, that we got to see several beautiful places on the west coast of Isabela. During the night our boat went around the south part of Isabela up to Punta Moreno. We got down at a very beautiful little bay where sea lions where bathing and playing. 

Between the ava stones you can see cactuses growing, different ones on each island. 

You are allowed to walk only on a few trails in order not to disturb the animals. We walked on the rough lava and observed mainly birds. It is a beautiful bizarre landscape. We walked up to a ppretty salt water lake 

saw some beautiful spider webs on the way, which they spun between the rocks.

Afterwards we sailed to another point and went deep water snorkling. On the way it was beautiful to observe the waves breaking on the cliffs.

The sea was quite rough, the water was not clear and we could hardly see anything as we went snorkeling.

In the afternoon we went snorkling again. it was the first time that tere was a lot to see. Swimming seaturtles and many beautiful fishes. And this time I left my underwatercamera in the boat! I bought a waterproof plastic case for my old camera with the hope that it is really waterproof, to try to take some underwater photos. It is really waterproof. 

On the way the scenery was beautiful. 

In the afternoon we went up a mountain on Isabela island from where there was a beautiul view. 

We were a bit late, so we got to see the sunset and just made it back down before it was completely dark

I had told Nicole with whom I share a cabin that I have birthday today, I just wanted at least one person to congratulate me. She told it Carlos, our guide, and in the evening I had a surprise. Carlos came with a beautiful birthday cake and a candle on it and everyone sang happy birthday to you. It was so cute. Well, that was really a wonderful birthday.
